Welcome to the OCCA!

Official Mission Statement
“A space for Orthodox Christians, where creativity and adaptability synchronize with hope and healing; thereby cultivating the fruits of the spirits within one another to maintain unity within the Orthodox Church.”
Our Mission
We are blessed to welcome you to such an environment where *starting with* Pan-Orthodox young adults can virtually interact and engage in creative activities such as artwork, writing submissions, news features and video content. OCCA was built in hopes of establishing a safer space to respectfully network without breaking the bank to participate in various social outings to do so. Posts of good works, business ads and moments of appreciation are welcome. We’d also like to gather for Zoom meetings to discuss ways in which we can live our faith daily and build resilient communities.
Meet the Creator

Hi, I’m Katherine! Born and raised within the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Detroit, yet venturing off into various interests, I often struggled with fitting in with my peers at church. During my teens, my love for writing grew immensely. Participating in the Oratorical Festival gave me the courage to conquer my fear of public speaking and was convinced I’d have many published works out and become a motivational speaker by now. Within the past decade, a series of unfortunate events have unfolded, so it became increasingly difficult to find my own identity as a writer and as an Orthodox Christian woman. I firmly believe God placed me on this path for a reason…. not only to inspire and entertain others with my work, but to amplify the voices of other Orthodox young adults. So….I proudly present the OCCA! 🙂
